About Us
Black Arrow's humble beginnings started in 1996 when owner Don Coffey decided to purchase a small eclectic store in the basement of the Bashford Courts building in historic Prescott, Arizona. The store was known to collectors of Native American art and Cowboys looking for authentic replicas. But Don had loftier plans.
He moved the store up to the second floor, and began his quest to create a Native Arts store that catered to the more serious collector. Don's greatest passion was to provide beautiful, one of a kind collections by artists at the the top of their trade. Artists such as, Arizona Born GL Miller, Internationally Known Navajo artist Ray Tracey and Supersmiths David Rosales and John P. Delgado. He worked closely with artists and groups that guaranteed their work and soon built a reputation for beauty and quality without compromise.
Don has also been able to express his own creativity. Taking his inspiration from Northern Arizona's breathtaking natural landscape, he has designed exceptionally beautiful jewelry that can be found exclusively at Black Arrow.
Sixteen years later, Don's vision for Black Arrow has blossomed into an even more impressive new Gallery located on Gurley Street Downtown Prescott, Arizona. The recreated anasazi ruins in the front window give hints of delights inside! You can see images of our local store throughout our online store. Exposed brick walls covered with Dave Powell Paintings, Dennis Gallagher bronze statues, Masks by Cindy Jo and Hand Painted Hides by Laura Mountain.
For those who have always loved the "old" Black Arrow, rest assured you will still find the same friendly feeling, good old fashion customer service with a smile and the same high quality, award winning jewelry, you have grown to love. Black Arrow is now known for offering some of the most unique Ranger style belt buckles and exquisitely made jewelry in all of Northern Arizona, produced only by artists of the highest caliber, all still guaranteeing their work.
So next time you're planning a trip, give some thought to heading out to Black Arrow in historic Prescott, Arizona. Hosting The World's Oldest Rodeo since 1888, folks have come from far and wide to see what the ruckus is all about. Not only is the weather fine and the scenery beautiful, we have also been voted one of the top five places in the nation to retire. Black Arrow not only offers one of a kind jewelry and Native American arts, we also carry handmade leather straps, as well as Pendleton Woolen Mills native blankets. Our customers travel great distances, just for an opportunity to experience Black Arrow first hand. Some come to us as fans of the store, some come to us as fans of particular artists, but one thing is for sure, they always leave as friends. See you soon!
